Pet Policy

Boat Harbour Stays

We are pleased to welcome well-behaved pets to our short-term accommodation, subject to availability and prior approval where required. This policy is designed to ensure a comfortable, clean and safe environment for all guests.

1. Number and Size of Pets Permitted

  • Studios: A maximum of 2 small dogs is permitted, or 1 medium-sized dog weighing up to 20 kg, subject to availability.
  • Villas and Cottages: A maximum of 2 dogs per villa or cottage, subject to availability.
  • Additional pets, or pets outside these limits, may only be accommodated with prior approval from management and are subject to availability.
  • All pets must be disclosed at the time of booking or prior to arrival.
  •  Pet-friendly accommodation is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed for every booking.

2. Pet Behaviour and Supervision

  • Guests are responsible for their pets at all times.
  • Pets must be supervised and kept under control.
  • Pets must not cause excessive noise, nuisance or disturbance to neighbours or other guests.
  • Pets must not be left unattended in the accommodation unless specifically approved.
  • Pets must not be permitted on furniture, beds or other areas where they may cause damage or excessive soiling.
  • Guests must bring appropriate bedding, food bowls and other pet supplies where required.
  • Pets must not be allowed to damage gardens, landscaping, furnishings, fixtures or property.

3. Cleanliness

  • Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, both inside and outside the property.
  • All pet waste must be collected immediately and disposed of appropriately. Excessive pet hair, odours, stains or mess may result in additional cleaning charges.
  • A hose is available to rinse sand and salt from your pet after visiting the beach.

4. Damage and Additional Cleaning

Guests are responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any property damaged by their pet.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Damage to furniture, flooring, doors, walls, fixtures or outdoor areas.
  • Excessive cleaning required because of a pet.
  • Removal of stains, odours or pet hair beyond normal cleaning.
  • Damage to other guests' or neighbours' property caused by the pet.
  • Any applicable charges may be deducted from the security deposit or otherwise charged to the guest.

5. Safety

  • Pets must not create a safety risk to guests, staff, neighbours or other animals. Aggressive or dangerous behaviour is not permitted.
  • Guests must comply with all applicable local animal-control, registration and leash requirements.
  • Pets must be kept on a leash or in a cage when outside.
  • Pets are not permitted to be placed on temporary or permanent pet runs.

6. Restricted Areas

  • Pets are not permitted in or around the pool area.
  • Pets may be restricted from certain areas of the property where necessary for safety, hygiene or maintenance reasons. Guests must follow any instructions provided by the accommodation provider.

7. Assistance Animals

Assistance animals will be accommodated in accordance with applicable Australian laws. Guests may be asked to provide appropriate evidence where permitted by law.

8. Breach of Policy

A serious or repeated breach of this policy may result in additional charges and, where necessary, termination of the guest's stay in accordance with the applicable booking terms and laws.

9. Guest Responsibility

By bringing a pet to the property, the guest accepts responsibility for the pet and agrees to comply with this policy. The guest is also responsible for ensuring that their pet does not cause damage, injury, unreasonable disturbance or inconvenience to others.
